Below is a brief description and simple calendar of each camp, outlining some fieldtrips and activities.


Calgary Mavericks

Celebrate Calgary’s history through old fashioned games and activities, such as potato sack races, corn husk dolls, and lasso tying. The children have fun experiencing what it may have been like for the men and women that helped shape our City.

July 10-14, 2017 “ Calgary Mavericks ” $290 + GST

Field Trip to: Fish Creek Park 9am-4pm Old fashioned games, roasted hotdogs and homemade Bannock

Walk to Westside’s Outdoor rec. spaces (basketball, skateboarding, etc,...)

  • Registration is first come, first served. All Camps subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met. Two weeks written notice will be given if camp is cancelled.

Animation Masters

Let your imagination sore!! Children will have fun creating fantastic comic strips, with their own characters and story, for the first part of the week. For the second half, the children will get to explore “Claymation” by turning their comic into a Claymation short to show the whole family.

Outer Limits

Children will have a blast becoming an Astronomer and Astronaut. Creating their own spacesuit, space laws and rocket ships, exploring the stars, and experiencing what it takes to fly to the moon!

3P's

(painting, print making, and puppeteering) “Hi on a hill was a lonely goatherd, Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo” Spend the week learning painting, print making, and puppet making techniques. Children will then use these new skills to create a fun and exciting puppet show to be performed at the end of the week, just like Maria and the Von Trapp Children.

YYC Survival

Do you know how to survive in a city? or in the woods? This week children will get to build their survival skills, from learning how to read a transit map, making their own first aid kits, to building wind proof tree shelters. Fun games like “The Animal Game”, and crafts like “treasure maps”, will make this an adventure they will never forget.

Aug. 7 - 11, 2017 “YYC Survival” $240 + GST
